My New Doctor Who Nails!!!

So I may not be packed for Comic Con yet (costumes are done… we leave in about 2 hours… that’s plenty of time, right?) but I was sure to get my nails ready in time! Doctor Who nails! My nails will be flailing about on Sunday morning in Hall H during the Doctor Who panel.  Now if only I could get into that elusive Doctor Who Tumblr Meetup…

This might be my favorite nail art set yet - all hand painted by Yoko at Atlas Studio on natural nails with calgel.

So excited for geek week!!!

Star Wars Meets Hello Kitty - Boba Kitty

This is a manicure I got a couple years ago when I threw my husband a Star Wars themed 30th birthday party, but I just found these photos now!

I wanted a Hello Kitty Manicure, but I also wanted a Star Wars manicure… and after  getting some awesome stickers from http://www.hellowars.com/ I realized that I would never have to choose between those two worlds again.  My Boba Fett Kitty was pink… because I wanted pink bows.  It’s not like I was trying to be authentic anyway.  :)

This is Calgel on natural nails. 3D bows are made of acrylic and Boba Kitty was totally hand painted with a 3D bow over her ear.

Snow White is my favorite Disney Princess… so it was about time I had a Snow White themed manicure.

The colors were inspired by the outfit she wears - a lot of red, yellow, blue and, of course, 3D bows!  Plus a set of delicious red apples and a completely hand painted sassy version of Snow White herself on the thumbs (one giving a wink, as inspired by the Snow White art of Jenny Chung for Disney.)

My Mawaru Penguindrum inspired manicure featuring Penguin #3 and Esmeralda on the thumbs.

Hand painted nail art by Atlas Studio.

The Bling Finger.  My friend said it looked like a Fabergé egg… I kind of agree!

My manicure by Atlas Studio… stayed natural for the gradient and went all out sparkle on the ring finger.

My 7 year old self would be proud of my manicure considering I’ve saved (and still use) my Little Twin Stars pencil box since 1987.

Little Twin Stars Manicure - inspired by a photo I found on Tumblr a long time ago that I haven’t been able to find again since I printed it out originally.

My newest manicure! Sanrio’s Cinamaroll with pastel polka dots.  He’s on the thumbs and he’s white on white so he doesn’t stand out too much.  There’s baby blue and white hearts on the pointer and ring fingers too.

The look was inspired by a set on the Cynful Nails blog and I brought in two pictures of Cinamaroll for the manicurist at Atlas Studio to use for the 3D design.
